Flu Vaccines

yYoung is so much more than just a pharmacy, and I will tell you why.

With flu season just around the corner, we are happy to offer an alternate way to ensure you get vaccinated. As always, you can get immunized by your family doctor, at a pharmacy, or a walk-in clinic. But with yYoung Pharmacy, our pharmacists are happy to come to your workplace to immunize you and your colleagues. Book us to arrange a flu clinic at your place of business.

In previous years, we have successfully held flu clinics at various locations such as:

  • movie sets
  • administration offices
  • group homes
  • supported housing facilities

Who should get an influenza vaccine?

  • Flu shots are recommended for individuals over the age of six months and older. These individuals should get a yearly influenza vaccination with rare exceptions.
  • Vaccination is essential for people at high risk of serious illness from influenza (such as young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with certain medical conditions) and those able to transmit or spread influenza to those at high risk. In B.C., the influenza vaccine is accessible to these people.

Are you eligible for a free flu vaccination?

Free vaccinations are accessible to those who meet specific requirements such as:

  • Children 6 months to less than five years of age
  • Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy during the influenza season

The best way to protect yourself and others from the flu is by getting a flu shot and practicing preventative measures such as proper hand hygiene and staying home from school or work when sick; please be sure to keep an eye out on our website. We will be letting you all know when we get our supply of vaccines so you can book your appointment with one of our pharmacists or schedule a flu clinic at your place of work. We have covid safety measures in place at our pharmacies, such as social distancing, regular sanitization procedures, plexiglass partitions for added safety, and ensuring patients and customers have access to a mask.

If you still have any questions, please feel free to call and speak to one of our team members at either of our pharmacies.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
